Every year, I make these “I Love You Snow Much!” ornaments with my first grade students for their December/holiday gift for their parents. These snow themed ornaments are easy for the students to make and they are pretty darn cute! I also like that they are winter themed, rather than a specific holiday.

Supplies needed:
- Clear Plastic Ornaments from Michaels or Clear Plastic Ornaments from Amazon
- Shredded copy paper
- Black and Orange Oil Based Paint Pens
- Ribbon
- FREE Gift Tags
- Cardstock Paper
- Paper Cutter
- Optional: White Gift Bags
Directions:
- Purchase all the supplies.
- Print the gift tags of your choice on cardstock paper. I have included two free versions of the gift tag. The one pictured above is a save your ink version.
- Pre-shred the white copy paper. I save trimmed pieces of paper throughout the school year purposefully for this project.
- Pre-cut the gift tags for your students.
- Have your students fill out the back of the gift tags.
- Give your students the plastic ornaments and instruct the students to carefully remove the ornament tops.
- Give your students the shredded paper and model how to fill the ornament balls.
- Once full, you may have to help the students put the tops back on the ornaments.
- Give each student a piece of ribbon and either model how to tie the tag on or do it for them.
- Give the students something else to do, like decorate the gift bags, and then pull students individually to draw the snowman face on the ornaments using the paint pens.
- Place the ornaments somewhere to dry.
- When dry, place the ornaments in the gift bags and send them home.
These ornaments would also work as a cute winter themed craft or as an intro to a winter theme unit.
