I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas! I am enjoying my two weeks off from work.
Here is a catch up of what we did in school the week before Christmas.
Elfonse the Elf on the Shelf came for the week. He forgot to move one day and is still in his last spot. Hopefully, he remembers to move when school starts back up.
We finished up our gingerbread unit. I added a few new activities to my packet. Like the glyph above and the gingerbread make ten to add houses.
If you have already bought the packet, please re-download. It is now 174 pages long! If not check it out here.
I love how the kids put their own spins on their gingerbread men. Check out the little guy below…I don’t think he wants to get eaten by the fox!
For Engage NY Math, we were working on making a ten to add with number bonds and ten frames. I tied that into our gingerbread theme and made it into a craftivity.
For more of my posts on gingerbread, click here.
We also made reindeer hats, reindeer food, and snowman poop. They thought the snowman poop was hysterical. Click the pictures to find the packets on TpT. The snowman poop and reindeer food is free!
Even though Hanukah was a few weeks apart from Christmas this year, we compared the two holidays using a Venn. We also taste tested latkes (free on TpT).
While on break, I decided to get a head start on my centers for when we get back. Click below to check out my new short vowel e literacy center packet.
I will be back before the New Year and I hope you enjoy your break!
