Here are some activities to help your students celebrate the New Year!
The New Year’s display above is pretty simple to create. Have your students trace their right foot on construction paper. Then have them write what they plan to do this year on the inside of the card. Glue the footprint on the outside of the card. I like to use scrapbooking letters to make each students’ name. I have the printable pages in my Happy New Year Common Core Activities packet.
This photo craft above is made from scrapbook paper, a black and white 8 x 10 photo of each of your students, the printable, curly ribbon or pom-poms, and noisemakers.
P. Bear’s New Year’s Party is a cute New Year’s countdown book.
You can find the above activities in this packet below:
New Year’s themed centers are always a favorite of my students. I have a packet of Common Core Aligned centers that are perfect for first graders.
I have two versions of this center in the packet, a short vowel and a long vowel one.
I created this graphtivity packet as a whole class activity. The students will graph if they watched the ball drop or went to bed on New Year’s Eve.
If you are looking for some New Year’s Print and Go activities for first grade, I just finished this packet. It is only $2.50!
Here are some New Year’s themed books I recommend purchasing or borrowing from the library:
I hope you have a Happy New Year!
