The week before last, we planted “mystery seeds” in newspaper cups. The students predicted what type of plants their “mystery seeds” would grow into. Then the seeds began to sprout and we measured our sprouts and wrote our observations in our “Seed to Plant Observation Logs.” I love how the students drew the newspaper cups! We plan on observing our plants until the end of the school year. I am hoping they will begin to look like the grown up plant and the students can see if their predictions were correct. These activities can be found in “My Seed to Plant Project” on TpT for only $2!

Thanks Hadar! I just updated my Garden Buddy photo and pinned it! We need to collaborate more often and not just by accident.

Love these plant ideas. Since 1st Grade is banned from much plant activity (it's HUGE in Kinder at our school), I will be sure to pass this on to the crew down below . . . this is perfect for them :). I can't wait to see what other great ideas you have . . . I am now a follower!

We are growing TickleMe Plants in my classroom. Everyone runs to class to Tickle the TickleMe plant and watch how the leaves fold up and the branches fall down when Tickled.
I no longer plant Lima beans. I am a true TickleMe Plant fan.
