Pumpkin Interactive Science Notebook

We started learning about pumpkins last week!  We utilized my new Pumpkin Interactive Notebook File.  There is a free sample in the preview file!   The packet itself is only $3.
We start each science unit with a Schema Chart.  The students love to move the post-its to the different columns.
It is important to have a real pumpkin for them to touch and use as a model for their science notebook diagrams.
The parents came in for “Pumpkin Day” and we did the science activities from the packet.  The kids and parents loved the activities.  One of the parents even said to me “They don’t even know that they are learning!”

Here are some of the pumpkin themed picture books I recommend:

Teacher truth: class sizes matter to both students Teacher truth: class sizes matter to both students and teachers.

It is a Sunday night and I am at home prepping for the week. As a 25 year veteran teacher, I should have everything done. I should be able to get everything done at school but I can’t. Maxed out classes sizes mean that I can get much less prepping done during my preps.

If you are a tired and frustrated teacher of a maxed out class. I hear you and am right there with you.

I absolutely LOVED that our PTA made it free this year. It made all 25 students very happy. How does your school handle the pumpkin patch.
