I love your ideas because they are perfect for first grade without scaring them. Even though that day is etched in my mind forever, I know my students don't have a clue about 9/11/01. They weren't even born yet and we are in Colorado, so far from NYC. I think writing letters to people who serve our country is an excellent way to approach it. Thanks for sharing, Erica!

1. These little pastel trays for crayons. My students put the trays on their desks when they are coloring and no more crayons rolling all over the place.

3. Color ribbons to make finding Chromebooks quicker.
4. A clean white computer cart that has multiple shelves and an open back for all the wires.
5. The MVP of laminators, this Swingline laminator never lets me down.
6. A wipes container because I want to label everything and keep the sink area looking neat.

Teacher truth: class sizes matter to both students Teacher truth: class sizes matter to both students and teachers.

It is a Sunday night and I am at home prepping for the week. As a 25 year veteran teacher, I should have everything done. I should be able to get everything done at school but I can’t. Maxed out classes sizes mean that I can get much less prepping done during my preps.

If you are a tired and frustrated teacher of a maxed out class. I hear you and am right there with you.

I absolutely LOVED that our PTA made it free this year. It made all 25 students very happy. How does your school handle the pumpkin patch.

Many years ago when TpT was at its peak, I thought Many years ago when TpT was at its peak, I thought of leaving and becoming a full time teacher-author. But there were way too many reasons for me not to, like that I loved my job, that I was single, that being a teacher in NY meant I had good benefits, tenure, and a pension. So I brushed that thought off and continued on teaching. I continued on sharing resources with you and worked at a pace that was reasonable for someone teaching full-time and navigating life’s challenges.
My heart goes out to all the teachers who did leave and have became teacher entrepreneurs. I know you are struggling with what to do now that TpT has changed their parameters. I wish you success in whatever you decide.
But this post is for all the teachers in classrooms who have stuck with me, asked my thoughts, and wondered what I was going to do next. Well, I’m not changing a thing because I have only ever sold digital teaching resources on TpT and I will continue to do so.
I want to thank you for your continued support your likes, comments, and shares always make my day. I love being able to share teaching resources with you and hopefully I have saved you time and maybe made you laugh once in a while. ❤️Erica
